Hi - hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have an F150 crew cab with a Clarion HU and CDT CL61 components getting 65W each. The sound is great but lacking on the lower end. I'm not looking for loud booming bass, but definately want to fill in the low end of spectrum and have enough oomph behind it to feel it.

I don't want to loose any space in the cab. Originally I was thinking I may just add one 8" sub under the rear bench but I'm not sure that will be enough. So now I am contemplating adding two 8" subs. I could probably get those into their own sealed cabinets (side by side) at about .25 ft^3 each and would power them at the RMS rating of 200W each. Another alternative is to go with one 10" sub (EF100) in a roughly 0.5 ft^3 enclosure and give it 250 W.

Which of these set ups would provide the best results? I've been shopping around online for subs, I don't have a lot of experience and since I've been happy with my CDT components I think I will probably just stick with the CDT subs as well.

Thanks for any input.

Hello and welcome ot the forum. If you can fit the EF100 I would run that sub. Also if you are looking for an amp to run it off of look int othe SQA-4100. You wull be able to run your entire stereo off of that one amp. Use channel 1 for once crossover and channel 2 for the other. Then bridge 3/4 for the sub. Each component will get 110w rms and the sub will get 300w rms. That is 50w rms over what you originally planned but that will leave you a little head room. YOu will also give your components a little more power. That would be a VERY nice set-up. If you have any further questions feel free to ask.

I think I could swing a 10", I'll have to measure it up but it should be doable. Is there a specific reason you recommend the single EF100 vs 2 EF80's?

I checked that amp out. looks nice. Not sure I can fit that in my budget though.
