Whats a good amp? [Archive] - CDT Audio Forums

Hi there,
I have the CDT ES-630U.S. with upstage and I'm looking for another better amp. I am currently running an old skool soundstream rubicon amp from an old setup. I'm pretty much looking for a SQ amp. One option is the McIntosh MCC 302, and another one that I'm looking at is the Zapco C2K 6.0. They both put out 150 watts RMS, have a very low THD, and both have a S/N ratio above 100. I'm actually leaning towards the McIntosh amp.........what do you guys think?

I been reading about the Brax amps and some others but the price seems just too high up there. So, anyone running either the McIntosh or Zapco amp I just mentioned?

Bump....curious on the brax amps also.........the older model competition A2. ever heard that amp in person?

I just bought the Helix A2 amp, should be here next week! yea I know, I'm impatient.:p

thanks! I can't wait. It kinda sucks living in the middle of the pacific ocean:p Everything takes what feels like forever, and it cost an arm and a leg. Come on brown truck! "What can brown do for you?" Hurry the f**k up!:)

:p Brown must be expensive out there.... Did USPS not come out cheaper?

Dunno.:p It cost a little over 60 bucks to ship that amp to Hawaii 2 day air, (actually 3 days to Hawaii), using UPS. Guess i'll be waiting by my front door come monday:p!

Sorry. I have not been on in a long time, been pretty busy. Nice choice on the amp. Make sure you follow the OM for install. I do not know from personal experience but I have been told that you need to.
