I planning to get this HD-2 or ES-02 to pair with my Seas W18NX and try use 2 way setup to get 'sound like 3 way set' ...

I plan to run it from 500hz (-12db) to 20khz ...

What is the different with it? There is almost same in specifiaction & outlook ...

Others than that? Sound Quality?

Thanks.

I would not recommend running either of those drivers down to 500Hz....

Sorry for my brief comment last night, was a bit late in the evening ;) Drivers that small are not built to play down to 500Hz in a daily setup. Furthermore, the W18NX is able to extend, cleanly, much higher than 500Hz. A crossover point in the 2kHz-2.5kHz region when using the W18NX in a 2-way setup would be more appropriate. You will be better off with a true 2-way set rather than attempting to evoke the sound of a 3-way set by manipulation of the xover points in a 2-way set.

Thanks.

But would you able to tell me the different of the SQ and performance for HD2 and ES-02 beside price different?

Sorry for not clarifying that earlier. The ES-02 uses a special coating on the driver's cone to allow for a higher frequency response. This is reflected in the spec sheets on both drivers. For tweeter use, you'll want to make sure the ES-02 is what you go with. The HD-2 will not extend quite as high. All else is equal between the two drivers in physical terms. Lastly note that as with all CDT ES GOLD drivers, the ES-02 will carry CDT's 10-year warranty.

thanks.

Where did you get the spec sheet?
i download the spec sheet from CDT for HD-2 & ES-02 and it only show the graph till 1khz .. and not to 20khz...

ES-02 is a very smooth tweeter. Not bright at all. Brings out a lot of the subtle details in the music. Dispersion is pretty wide.

Sorry to dig up a year old thread.. But I'm very interested in the ES02 set. I noticed they are for sale on the woofersetc .. But in the description near the "Add to cart" button it states a 3 year warranty. For the differences in spec and warranty the price is well worth it for that set.

Can someone confirm that the ES-02 have a 10 year warranty?
