A CDT rep told me that the ES-06 would be perfect for my rap/hip/hop/club mix/rock type of music. Another guy who own a pair of ES-06 told me that if I go active 2-way, the 06 isn't a good choice because they are nore really good between 1khz to 3khz.

What is the truth?
I don't really like my HD-6 because they don't do so well when there's too much bass, I have to lower the volume on my HU.

Last question,

I plan to buy a JL AUDIO amp, either 300/2 or 500/1.

I have a very nice chromed Soundstream TR500/4 ( 150wrmsx4 or 500wrmsx2).
Should I power my front stage with the same amp,my tarantula ? and 500/1 for the sub?

Or

300/2 for tweeter and tarantula for mid and sub ?

Here's my stuff:
ES-010
HD-6 ( might swap it!)
HD-SQ12
SS TR500/4 Amp
Pioneer p780mp

Thanks!!!

Sorry for not seeing this thread sooner. I believe we spoke and resolved everything via email. If you have any further questions, please let me know.

For anybody else that views this thread, the ES-06 drivers are recommended for use in any 2-way set using the CDT EX-550i/25 crossover for a 2.5kHz crossover point. The drivers will play cleanly to this point without any trouble. For the genres of music listed by the OP, the ES-06 drivers will absolutely excel. (CDT rep was correct ;) )

The ES-06+ drivers are CDT's 6.5" drivers that are not recommended for use above 1kHz. ES-06+ drivers are designed strictly as small subwoofers and/or midbass drivers. They're not recommended for midrange use however.

With regards to your HD-6, I would check to make sure your HPF and gains are set correctly. Sounds like you have a few corrections to make there.

Would the ES-6 or even the older yellow ES-600 give me more mid than the HD series?
