Hey guys,

New member checking in. My name's Charlie. I'm currently putting some gear together for my new car. I've been curious about CDT ever since I noticed their price tag and thought "man... these must be some nice speakers..." ;) heh...

So here I am... Looking forward to getting some input, and hopefully meet some new people in the process.

Nice to meet you Charlie. Well I have always heard "you get what you pay for" but in reality the more you put into something (materials, time, research, etc.) the more it will cost; however the more of these things which are used should result in a quality product, and I can assure you that CDT makes some outstanding products. On another note one good thing about CDT is they really make something for everyone, and not just crap you can buy at Wal-Mart. Good luck with your system and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

These boards seem a little slow, so I appreciate the response...

I definitely agree that you get what you pay for. And that's why I'm here; I'm looking for some quality speakers for a specific application.

By the way, I am curious; what's the story with CDT? I don't know anything as far as competitions go, but CDT seems to me like a pretty extreme niche brand, and largely unknown...

I cannot give you the whole background (as I am not affiliated with CDT); however CDT has been around a long time, and are used quite frequently in Europe. Here in America there are many who use CDT and many people such as myself compete with them. I think the main reason why you might not see them so much is that most people have their certain brands which they use, (Alpine, Kicker, Rockford, ETC.), and they never get past looking at these "common brands." Remember all of those great American made audio products back in the day; well CDT is one of those products. I think it is only a matter of time before people come back to the good old American products.
