Talk Audio gave its highest rating among 2-way component sets to the CDT ES-62i GOLD set with a 9.4 out of 10 in their component set review "shootout". This beats out many other sets from companies including Morel (notably their top of the line $2200 Supremo comp set), Focal, DLS, Genesis, JBL, Diamond, Alpine, JL, and Rainbow.

Impressive!

A two-way component speaker system with separate tweeter units, midbass drivers and passive crossovers. Complete with a particularly high quality mounting kit to fit the tweeters in more than one application and screws and fixings. This product was unique amongst the twenty sets tested in that it has passives with extra tweeter connections. This is a provision for adding a set of TW-19 LP tune-up or image enhancement tweeters. This is an £80 option and is designed expressly to go with this speaker set. The silk domed tweeters the set came with can also be ordered with Aluminium or Titanium domes depending upon the sort of result you would like.

The passives have a jumper you can move and are marked simply with 5.25” in 6.5” by way of indication of the midbass driver they would be set for use with. These midbass drivers have cast chassis and the cones seem very wobbly or compliant. The set oozes quality and so it should at the price!

Having garnered more accolades than Captain Kirk with fabulous reviews all over the world, this reviewer is about to deliver one more. Superb open clarity and speed, with space around things becoming audible. You get more of what the producer intended. The sound quality is just wonderful and has a true hifi excellence. In fact CDT’s distributors are selling some hifi style boxes with CDT components inside (passives affixed to the back) simply to demo their stuff all the better in mobile electronics dealerships in the UK. Rich and yet clear these speakers do have an astonishing price tag but you can easily hear why. The tweeters are fabulous, the weight and authority of the music along with the edges of sounds was beautiful. The Race by Yello was wonderful – it was a major demo track at hifi shows the year it came out and this reminded me of the show I went to. Fabulously efficient at turning watts into music too, these earned themselves a Talk Audio Best Buy.

Nice:) I really need to up-grade!! ME tweeters and MB are holding me back.
One thought here when I am able to up-grade I was going to go back with the ES-010 and most likely the 06+ but I have not heard the DRT 26 so how do they stack up?

good read, why did they only get a 8.0 for value for money?

Largely: The dollar-to-pound ratio at the time didn't work out so well. Whereas these speakers had a retail of $699 at the time of the review, they were far more expensive in English pounds due to the conversation rate.
