Hi,

as I´ve been told that CDT speakers and crossovers are optimized for mounting in doors or kickpanels I have some questions.

What about placing CDT speakers in dashboard playing upwards windshield?
I understand they are not optimized for it, nor are the crossovers.

As I intend to compete in Sweden, I have to mount all my midrange and tweeters up high, or else I will get bad pionts.
Yeas, judges ALWAYS listen with their eyes.
So there is no option but place them high, but I would like to do the best of the situation. Use original crossover or not? Use other speakers or what?

HU is Nakamichi CD700 if no timealignment is "needed", otherwise some Alpine or Pioneer.

Ideas are welcome!

Best regards,
Sibbe

We've done many types of CDT installs before. Some mounted in the kick panels, others where customers have requested a dash mount for some of the drivers. All of the dash mount ones have turned out excellent. No need for any hesitation, just take care when aiming the drivers. Don't mount until you've messed around with many different positions on the dash. Keeping the drivers close together will help out quite a bit.

I am also interested in center channel speaker[s] because I am planning to have CL or HD components in my door and a center channel on the dash to. My concerns about the center channel is that of the following:

1. I do not want to make holes in my dashboard because God only himself know how many airbags I have up there on the dashboard and pillars that I need to be functioning 100%.
2. Also I am not sure if I need to dump a 2 channel amp for a 4 channel am.
3. I am thinking of getting either a CDT Audio amp because I heard good things about them but not sure what I am going to do with the rear channels though.
4. I am not into speakers in the rear because my last install the rear fill or rear speakers or speakers on the deck messed up my SQ big time.

Please help.
