I am currently building a system for my 2005 Honda Pilot. I like a very bright sounding system and when my installer showed me CDT products I became very interested !!!!
I am currently looking at adding the
Model: UP-526XT to my system and am interested in where people in this forum think a ideal spot for placement might be. I might even add a center channel speaker if I can learn more about them.

This is the current location I have for my Polk MM component system tweeters. The woofers are mounted in the stock location.

For power I will be using a kicker 700.4 It should put about 163 to 175 watts X 4 Channels. In the back doors I have the polk MoMo coaxials. I got a deal on those so no components in the back seat area.
Currently the only thing I have in my vechile is the speakers. I recently had some surgery and had to slow down on my system but the good part of that is that now I get to do some research and see what is out there.
I would greatly apperciate any advice you might offer as I am looking to build a system that is high in sound quality not a super loud bass machine.
Thank you in advance for any advice you might offer !!!!!

Jeffrey

Well this would be a fine addition; however you might want to think about the HD anniversary set (just a thought). You could get for close to the same price range (with a trade in), and will also add some image tweeters. If you did this I would keep the first set real close to the mids and then add the image set somewhere higher. Now you defiantly need to do what YOU want as it will be in your car, but a few different suggestions never hurts.
Now back to you inquiry. If it were me I would take the new tweeters and use maybe some double sided tape (something not too sticky) and just put the tweeters in different locations until you find the perfect spot, then mount them right there. Since your main tweeters are already fairly high you could start kind of high on you’r A pillars then go from there. I would also recommend to try them firing different ways (some people seem heck bent on them firing straight at them and others firing toward the windshield); however I think different cars (and speakers) different set ups, so just practice location a bit.
By the way I also use kicker amps. In my new install I will have the SX 900.4, SX 400.2, and the SX 650.1
Anyway the advice I have given is just something to consider. I am also sure others on here will most likely have some better advice for you, so just keep checking, and good luck.

Well advice is definitely welcome. Honestly as embarassing as this is...how does a trade in work ??? Does CDT offer trade Ins ?? Is it a sale only yearly thing ??
I am pretty excited about the Kicker amps. Like I said I am running a Kicker SX 700.4 up front for all 4 of the front and rear speakers.
For my Sub amp I am running a Kicker 650.2 running into a MA Audio 10 inch in the stock location. Not a exciting pict but here it is.

Here is a pic of the 650.2 after I got a little custom paint thrown on it.

It will be mounted in the headrest area with a few well placed fans to draw heat off of both amps. It will be tight but they will fit. I do not have the amps wired or even mounted yet, that pict was taken so I could get a general idea of what I was looking at. Maybe some neon to help accent ?? I don't know I am 43 and putting neon in my vechile ?? I am rather interested in how hot those amps will get...they both have fans but heat is a enemy.

I wouldn't worry too much about the amps getting hot; I have the fans in mine unplugged and they have never gotten overly hot, nor have they shut down ( I don't live in Arizona either). I also wouldn't worry bout being 43 (and the neon thing). Look at it like this: most people your age prob. think your crazy for putting a system in your car so some neon wont hurt nothing. I get strange looks all the time concerning my audio system (and my age). Heck it is just what I love to do (not to mention I love music).
